You were right. I had Spyware (well its not really spyware just a hi-jack that changes some of the settings of your DNS, another flaw in the Windows OS) on my computer.
Symptoms:
Every time you type in a wrong URL (e.g,
www.google.co.u/) your browser goes to searchathand.com instead of a blank page.
Resolution/Fix: (These are my own steps and may not work for you!)
1. Click on
start, then click on
Control Panel
2. In the
control panel (make sure you are in classic view!), click on
Network Connections
3.
Right click on your main internet connection and choose
Properties
4. In the window that pops up, there is a scroll box.
Highlight the option
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click on
Properties
5. Makesure that the option
Obtain DNS server address automatically is checked.
6.
Restart your computer/laptop and it will be gone.
Hope this helps anyone else in my situation!
