Safely remove hardware docklet Rate Topic: -----

is there a docklet to open up usb drives, and to safely eject them? instead of using the conventional way?

I'm not pretty sure what you mean. But if I guess right then you don't need a docklet.
Create a shortcut that points to

"%windir%system32rundll32.exe shell32.dll,control_rundll HotPlug.dll"

Add it to your dock and your done.

i mean like, instead of opening the whole safety remove hardware, is there something i can click to eject the drive straight away?
there must be some script?

May I ask why you need safely remove any hardware. Just don't unplug it when you move photos or documents from it and that's it. That precedure is just unnecessary waste of time.

Crashes my comp if you do that. And i think he wants it like the mac, where the trash turns to eject...

you can always do:
Right click the drive>eject

not that difficult...

alabanco's method should work if this setting is applied:
1-insert your usb drive
2-go to the hardware tab
3-select your USB from the list eg. USB 2.0 Flash Disk USB device
4-click the properties button
5-go to the policies tab
6-make sure the Optimize for quick removal radio button

I've tried it before and it has worked.. for more than a year
