This is both a statement and a question. I occasionally...okay rarely use it but, here's how I discovered this.

So, I fire up YW and browse to the Allrecipes widget. It doesn't launch. Did a quick search in Locate then found out it just deleted the cached version. So, I launched the version from my widgets folder and the same thing.

Being behind on archiving my downloads, I try the version in there. It again deletes it. Heck, I pulled the version out of storage and you guessed it...it's gone.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm just wondering exactly how much control over other areas of the system they have? Yes, I'm ticked about the deletion but, more so about doing it without any explanation whatsoever.

I have allrecipes widget and it was not deleted by Y!WE. As far as I know Y!WE can keep you from running a bad widget they have vulnerable code in it but as far as deleting anything I don't believe that is the program doing it.

Same as Ghostwalker, I use this app frequently (look at my screenshots for proof ;)), and this has never happened to me.

Yes, but they alert you.

It's a weird one, I haven't looked at the API since it was Konfabulator.

D@mn, maybe if I read the install windows. Just downloaded it with the same results but, I never read the windows.

Yahoo, disabled it because of security concerns, actually that's a plus and I guess I need to read those once and a while! ;)

Thanks all.

Yes they recently found some vulnerabilities with some widgets which would allow an attacker to take control of your computer. Those Widgets have been disabled until the authors can fix their code.
