It's basically using the Firefox ability to define custom CSS styles for pages (this will actually work for all Gecko-based browsers such as Camino).
You edit the userChrome.css file inside ~/Application Data/Firefox/.../chrome/ and alter the colors, etc.
sgtrama also modified the images Aqua-Soft uses, and uploaded those on his own server; you can reference those images in your new stylesheet, so the possibilities are pretty much unlimited.
Here's the code he used. It will probably help better than any explanation I can provide:
http://userstyles.org/style/show/725 (click "Show Code").
Hope this helps,
-NC
P.S: If your new style is good enough, Timan may offer to provide it as a forum skin.

It's actually even easier than that. The style itself and the userstyles are both made for Stylish Firefox add-on. Once installed you just click the button to install the new style and it should work no problem.
I had actually almost finished converting this style into a legit forum theme with GIF images and everything when my XP installation died.
Since I've installed Vista, bought a MacBook Pro, and enrolled in school so I'm better equipped to alter it, I just don't have the time . =
I SHOULD get around to doing it before the summer is over (I have summer classes, but I get a week off in July), especially since I know exactly what I need to do this time around.
