Yahoo! Widgets 4 Is out.
Seemed like they improved memory usage a bit, and added a fairly cool feature which is a DOck that shows your running widgets and/or all the widgets in your directory.
The cool thing about this is that although nothing too impressive is implemented in this standard version, it opens the gate for widget developers to create widgets that can be used in the minimode in the dock where it is in the dock but still shows info....kind alike dashboard lol.
Anyways....everyone go download.. Its pretty cool.

What are some of your favorite widgets for YWE?
I just installed it and love the new widget dock, as well as the gallery!

I'd like to comment on the dock except it crashes every time I try to move forward.

Go in Yahoo! widget engine preferences, then go in the Dock panel and select 'Auto hide'.

Try renaming the .widget file to a .zip file.
Then hunt around in the zip file to see if you can find the widget image.
Good luck!

i still find the memory usage a bit too much..took out around 30+mb of ram for them to work.. anw.....will try using it again....cos it looks cool.
edit: its getting lesser now..probably due to the amount of widgets on the desktop..

I've found renaming doesn't really work. This release comes with the Widget Converter. try using that.

@Zicu
there is no heads up display anymore - that's why i switched back to 3.1.5 [mac] i was having trouble with a few widgets, also noticed that you can't lock them in position anymore. if you prefer the old version....

Hi, I'am found the way to change dock's widget image.
But....the widget dosen't shown up. :_(
I'ved add "widget.xml" and images folder in widget content which include icon image for dock.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<metadata>
<name>Desk Calendar</name>
<version>2.0</version>
<identifier>com.yahoo.widget.deskcalendar</identifier>
<image usage="dock" src="Images/icon.png"/>
<author name="Ricky Romero"/>
<copyright>(c) 2005 Ricky Romero.</copyright>
<description>A nice calendar for your Desktop.</description>
<platform minVersion="4.0"/>
</metadata>
anyone help.
