I wanna mod a weather widget for aveScripter...but i dont have experience..and i heve this problem: ( so i find my weather location....but not in the weather.com but instead on weather.yahoo.com powered by the weather.com..... right??...but is there a way to change the source of the widget to look for my location....instead of weather.com set'it to weather.yahoo.com to look for it????? i can seem to find my location on weather.com....how do i change my location....(i know how!!!..but to my exact location and the widget does not seem to recognise my location.... this is my exact location...: http://weather.yahoo...O0451.html#text ...and i was hopping some of you guys can help me out...i try with every combination posible: Acambaro, Mexico Acambaro, Guanajuato (state)...etc and none of them worked)..

so i need your help guys.....is there a program to compile or mod the .xml files...in that way i can mod the widget.....PCM hook me up with this info.: http://xml.weather.y...trss?p=MXGO0451....and according to him it should be enough...so is there a way i can mod the original xml and replace it whit this info????i need a program to do it???can i use res-hack?????

Ok, just cut the reference code from the address bar which is in capital letters and numbers (in your case it will be MXGO0451).

so what you are saying is that i should input the capital letters in the field for the location and it should work???cuz is not working...thanks for the info.....i already try your method...any other sugestions!!!!

1st you don't need anything special to modify the data. Just use a notepad and change the XML file of the weather.

2nd the result file received from the yahoo is another xml, you'll need to modify the 1st file to match the new elements that are returned. Again this is just another notepad/text file.

If you look at the weather xml file (desklet theme) you'll notice that it refers the xml1 file and its elements. Match it with the new elements and it will work better.

NOTE: the yahoo weather file does not return 7 day forecast, so you need a new make a different looking weather desklet that isn't 7 days. UNLESS, someone knows any "undocumented" parameter to make yahoo return 7 day forecast
