How can I find this Sentence?

Oh, I forgot to implement it from language files. So it isn't translatable. Anyway the option will be removed in future releases, as it is mostly the same to use the hack or not (no improvements in performance at all when using the hack, i.e. to use it or not to use it is exactly the same in performance terms).

@cns0813h:

Add AppleMinMax.exe and SafariMinMax.exe to exceptions list.

For explorer you seem to be using Styler Toolbar. I suggest using KSoft's Mac Finder Toolbar for Windows, it works right with WinExpose.

iTunes seems to be incompatible with WinExpose, I can do something about this later... WIndows Vista/7 users with Aero enabled may not have this problem (but when having Aero enabled I recommend using Bao Nguyen's Switcher instead.

Maybe at some point WinExpose will handle WinAmp, AppleMinMax/SafariMinMax, iTunes, Pidgin and other stuff in a better way, but just now I don't have time for this. :(

@cns0813h:

If you're running Vista or Windows 7, run WinExpose once as administrator and fill the exceptions list. I forgot to fix this in yesterday's release (will fix and upload it today, but now is 3 a.m. here, so I'll just go to sleep and solve it this morning).

Edit

Fix published (get version 2009-03-28, backup your exceptions list first) (by backup I mean write them down in Notepad, a piece of paper or whatever)

very stable program, great job!
speed is very slow though and not very practical for everyday use. Sometimes takes > 5 seconds for all the windows to show up on a very fast machine with tons of ram even when texture size is down to a quarter size. I don't know how the mac does it, but as far as I know, theirs is almost instantaneous

I'm on a Centrino Duo 1.66GHz, 1.5GB, WinXP SP3, running ObjectDock, Yahoo Widgets, Styler, WLM and Photoshop and all windows show up instantaneously, no delays, no problems.

BTW: Texture size is set to "Normal" and Graphics engine is set to "DirectX". Those are default settings I think?

Usually it takes 2-3 seconds at least for the windows to show up but quite often it does take more than 5 seconds. I have DirectX on too and an ok video card installed. I have 10 windows or so most of the time.
Also, at idle state, the program uses over 40 mbs...which seems to be a bit much when it is in the idle state..although I understand 40mbs isn't a whole lot in today's standard

In answer to three last posts:

The more windows open, the more WinExposé takes to show up. The solution is to have a screenshots caché, but I haven't time to implement it yet. :(

@koolhermit:

40 MBytes... idle? you mean, when you're not using WinExposé? Try this:

Close WinExposé.
Run WinExposé, but don't activate it (don't press hot-key, screen-corner, whatever).
Now go to task manager and if it still uses 40 MBytes, either you're using a very old version or I've done something very very wrong (last one more probable). :P

I have the latest version. When I first startup the program, it only uses 10mb or so of memory. After I hit the hotkey once, it stays at 40mb even in the idle state. I thought you must be storing some screenshot cache there since the memory usage doesn't drop, but the speed doesn't improve on subsequent hotkeys and from what you said, you are indeed not saving any cache.
With the > 5 seconds wait for all my windows to show up, I find it much slower than alt-tab now. One suggestion I have would be to have the labels or even the program icon like alt-tab on all the screenshots automatically so it is easier to identify the window I want.
I must compliment you for all the hard work that you have put into the project though.

Winexpose is one of the hottest shit around, regardin the increase in workflow AND eye-candy. To be quiet honest, the only thing that prevents me from using it, is the missing img-cache. To have it loading my windows once is fair, to wait 4 secs everytime disturbing. And yes, I am one of those freaks having 10 windows open at the same time. :)

If you implement the cache, I'll make an german translation for you, or do you have one already? :)

Can't wait for screenshots cache to be implemented. Then it will finally be practically usable.

Hey Matias,

Great job on this app. And your endurance in keeping it maintained...!!! That's what I call Commitment!!!

I really think your app is on par with simulating the real deal. But am looking forward to further improvement.

Also, it doesn't work very well with MySpaces which is the other great functionality that's been sorely needed on Windows. Can you coordinate with that developer to make the two work together better. Just a request... Thanks.
