Im not sure if this is where I post this, but I just wanted to know if it was possible in windows xp to show the floppy/CD/DVD drive icons on the desktop when you put the cd/dvd/floppy into the computer.

You can achieve this by useing avedesk and automounter.

Sure, but I dont know if it exists! My suggestion is that you exchange that two programs for AveDesk which is better and get the automounter from here.

Hmm, it is a great program, but I dont want to give up my current widgets and engines, maybe if someone was able to make an automounter for yahoo widget engine or prefferably If anyone knows of a smaller program that will automount drives? Ive heard of deskmount, but I dont like the shortcut mark there, and it mounts them wherever XP wants them

Take a look at this not sure if that function is implemented yet but Iam sure he would add it if asked nicely.

It's still a beta version, but it can show the drive icon and related drive information on desktop.
