hi! first i would like to say hello to every one, and thank you to all the people who are putting their time into developing this software. it has a lot of potential!

i have spent the last hour or two browsing the site and and boards, and have yet to find an answer to my problems, so i decided to register and post here and see if someone can help me...

so i have both the latest versions of AveDesk and AveScripter... i just downloaded them from http://www.avedesk.org/.

i have installed both fine and attempted to use AveScripter; this is where i encounter the problem.

the desklets or widgets, or what ever you guys would like to call them, will load fine, but they do not function correctly.

the calculator will not calculate, the itunes remote says it is not loaded (when it is,) the weather will not remember any information i enter into it or work (location and degree...)

essentially, none of the AveScripter items function at all. they load, you can click on them, but they do not work.

The current version of Avescripter will not "reregister" the MSScript engine if it is disabled from your OS. Which it shouldn't be by default.

The BETA version will reregister it. If you download the beta, it should all work.

Please let me know.

i just installed the latest beta as you suggested, and just every thing works great now!

the only desklet i have found to not function properly now is the calendar (i can't input text.)

thanks so much and keep up the awesome work!

also, another thing i encounter is when ever i "show desktop" or minimize a window, the screen flashes white quickly before it shows the desktop.

is this normal? why does it happen? if it is normal, is there any plan to fix this with future versions?

thanks again!

I don't experience any flashes when I do Show Desktop. But you should post it in the avedesk section to get Andreas full attention. I know he's fixing stuff for the next version. Its possible its fix, and that's why I don't see it. Since I'm testing avescripter stuff for next version too.

As for the calendar not allowing to type, have you tried to click on the white space area. It's possible I forgot to set initial focus.

i have done some more testing with the calendar and this is what i have found...

on first start up of avedesk/scripter, if i click on a single date, then click in the box, i will get the flashing bar and i see the text i am inputing (only works on the first click after start up.)

once i close that calendar event box, and try to click on another date, and then click again in the calendar event box, i can type, but i do not see any flashing bar, nor can i see the text i am inputting (only after i am done typing, and close the box and reopen can i see what i wrote.)

Ok.. I see what you mean. I'll try to see if this is an Avescripter bug or avedesk. I'll run a few more tests.

Thanks.
