Hi there ,...

no matter how good or bad a software is, when the software can **** up your hole system its not worth it. The Installer stops by the iTunes Plugin. ( many threads on this, but no update. good, good ;) ) Ok what to do now? Stop the installer? No chance. Stop the iTunesPlugin ( or whatever it is called ) over the services? No Luck here. Cannot stop the service. Last Chance? Stop the install over the task-manager.

Then restart the System and everything is ****ed up. Desktop Links crashes, programmes don´t run anymore, software menu doesnt show anything, the hole system is a piece of crap.

Heres the Solution: ( one word to the support here: BAD. Only word you read in every thread is to read the faq on flyakite... yeah what a FAQ, .... no words )

Insert your Windows XP Disc in your cd-rom. ( NOTE: if you have SP2 running, you have to run a windows xp version with sp2 )

Then in the root run Upgrade.bat. Now Windows will reinstall its system files and all necesarry. No worries Programs and drivers will stay alive.

For me it works, i hope i can help someone out there. :)

ps: only thing that doesnt work after this was icq, but thats not the big problem. ;)

and sorryy for the bad words but there much much work to do on flyakiteOSX, no matter how good it look. ;)

greetz from germany. paperboy.

Thank you for offering a solution for this problem some people are experiencing but can you please tone down your attitude a bit?

Flyakite is free and it's made so you wouldn't have to replace system files one-by-one. So instead of complaining about the "BAD" support maybe you should try to understand that nobody here has an obligation to be tech support.

Again, i'm sure people will appreciate your solution but i think the language and attitude could have been better :)

I agree with the Mod here. Kite's OSX has been really great. I love it and I think its one of the most stable, if not THE most stable windows modification program, and I've tried a few : )

I'm the one who's having the issue with it hanging at the iTunes plugin during install; See my thread on this page. I've always used the same FAK 3.5 installer and it always worked perfectly, but this time is the first time that it did this.

I have been changing my windows modification programs so often because I get bored easily with one. But that's the problem. My guess is that another modification program did something or left something behind that's causing this to happen.

I can certainly vouch that at least in my case, and I'd guess in most cases too, that this issue is ultimately a user-caused problem and not with FAK. It's just been frustrating for me to try to figure out what I've changed this time and what's causing this. I literally tried almost everything I can think of short of a complete system reformat.

When I get home tonight from work I will try to run the installer again without the iTunes plug-in and see what happens.

If the installer hangs at Mplugin and you can safely end it, do so.
Then run the installer without the iTunes Plug-in--it should work out alright.
Finally, download and install the standalone Mplugin installer from the iTunes forum here.

Hope this helps!

Yes. It works fine when I unchecked the iTunes plugin during install.

I never really cared too much for that plugin.

Thanks for the help.

And, if you don't want to install FAKOSX again, and if you were smart enough to create a system restore point, just use that.

Gday, new here, and wanted to share my mplugin problems too.

So, choose everything

Goes thru just about everything,
Hangs at mplugin install,
Force exit,
Rebooted,

Wow, compared o some of the stuff here, my system stayed really stable!
Everything loaded fine, but zone alarm kept coming up with alerts because fak was trying to run processs or cumminicate with windows.

Im currently reinstalling without plugin,
Anyways, great job on it, even when the plugin hanged, it still booted fine.

Also, using v3.5
