Hi there,

this desklet for AveDesk will send hotkey commands to your pc every time you hover with your mouse over the button / leftclick it or scroll with your mousewheel on it.
It can be set invisible, changed in size, appearance, ...

Why?
------
I originally created it for AveDock - so, like OD/... it will show up on top of all windows when hovering over a hotspot.
The help file that'll pop up when clicking on "?" explains how to change the hotkeys and lists the usual Windows hotkey commands. Also you can control other applications with it (if they use hotkeys) - e.g. trigger showcase for AveDesk...

Issues:
--------
As the two sides of the desklet are of different size, do not resize the desklet with help of the AveDesk control window but with the desklet's options window. This will pop up at a different place than you've set your desklet as you might have positioned the hotspot in a screen corner...

Get (and see) it here:

(zip-file - has to be renamed first: Rename HotSpot.zip to HotSpot.aveinstall and doubleclick it while AveDesk is running...)

Keep up the good ideas

I'll be workng less on stuff now till mid summer. :( Just signed my new house yesterday and got lots of work to do.

I will be releasing a update soon that will fix 1 bug and add 1 small feature for people that will be testing Avedesk 2. Very very minor that is almost not worth mentioning :P

Well,
this sounds like good news - at least for you! :)
I wish I could sign in for my new job soon. ;) Maybe I shouldn't go on trying to find one at the other end of the world...

By the way: There have been problems if a desklet is totally invisible - I tried to set the (one and only) layer of desklet side 0 to "!HITSPOT" - didn't work...
There must be a bit left - that's why - if the desklet is set to invisible - the layer.src is "light.png"...

if a desklet is invisible, it will not work. All you can do is a layer invisible as a hitspot, but the desklet must be visible.

It is possible to make a desklet visible, but "invisible" to the user.

Hi recon.x -

I'm using the query for the desktop width to determine where the options dialog will appear on the screen... if there are difficulties I can change these lines...

But first of all, which version of AveScripter are you using?
And - for changing these lines - where do you want to set the hotspot and what size should it have approximately (e.g. at the top center of the desktop, 10*200pixels...)?

Hy,

i get exactly the same error. I am using AveScripter v. 1
The hotspot should be at the top left corner, about 50x50 pixels.

Hi lowr -

Do you still get this error, if you use a newer version of AveScripter, e.g. 1.0.6.1 - don't worry about it being stated as "Beta", it's stable, get it here:
http://avedesk.philc.ca/modules/PDdownload...p?cid=21&lid=31

I'm using a command called "this.UI.desktop.width", which is part of AveScripter, but I'm not sure when it was added to the AveScripter.dll - it might be not part of v1.0.0 (the one you're using).

If it's still not working, I'll have to change the code - not a problem, I just thought the method now is more elegant...
