I've been using y'z shadow as part of FlyAKiteOSX a few weeks now and its great!
I just wonder if its next version can make background windows slightly translucent. That would make it more OSX like right?
oh btw, I just tried the trial of WindowsFX. Its so stupid having a trial that basically disables 90+% of the feature set. I uninstalled it after 5mins of trying the "sway" effect ... which in my opinion, is the next dumbest thing.

YzShadow is no longer in development, so I don't think there's gonna be a "next version"

Yeah, I have yet to freeze him (the spinning irritates me too)--but I'll do it when I have a chance!

I've added this feature to a new application I am currently working on. It'll be a replacement to Objectbar sans the menu hooking. It's targeted toward the user that wants the look of the OSX menubar without having to worry about the intricacies of ObjectBar.
Entitled PsuedoBar, it'll include features such as Deskshade-esque drag and drop wallpaper changing, Menuet like album cover icon, media player controls, active window title on menubar and more. Everything will be configurable via an .ini file and will be compatible with Objectbar skins (
eventually if everything goes as planned).
More information will be available once I get closer to beta testing. Just wanted to let you know that there was something in the works that did what you requested.
