New time code using the time zone offset
which means you can now have multiple weather desklets and have correct day/night images displayed
(if its night in Montreal and day in Sydney for example)
New icon code which means its now sycronized from day to night
with the background and the large weather icons.
You can also select the moon phase southern or nothern hemisphere on the back.
New background Images to even closer emulate apples
weather widget.

Very, very nice. It looks and feels much more like the dashboard one.

I haven't download it yet... but when you say new time calc.. are you using something different than what I did with the default one? Cause the default wasn't based on the local time
And nice work on the stuff
Edit:
I just looked at your code and I see its different. Was it not working the other method I had. Since I got it working on my pc.

Your way was working correctly but because the desklet backround image changes with time it its
only correct if you had one open and the country selected in the desklet is the one selected on you clock, but if you have multiple open set to different countries the background image would be wrong .So it would show the moon but the background image would be the day background for example.

Hmm...
My approach worked with the time received from the weather. Each weather has his own time. I would use that vs the sunset time to determine when to change background.
I tested it with Tokyo (Other side of planet) while having 2-3 others weathers.. And that worked.
You sure about it? I'm just asking because I was sure it worked and no one seem to have mentioned anything :S
I didn't use the timezone approached because I found a problem with that method. And I just can't remember it right now. If I do I'll let you know.

Ok... Thanks for your help. I found where the problem was.
Indeed there as a bug with the timezone. I was subtracting instead of adding. Dumb mistake from my part. It looked like the few tests I did worked out well since it was it was in the -+ 10 hour difference so it would roll over either way. But in small hour difference it didn't work. Thanks for Iding the problem.
The only issue I remembered was with weather.com doesn't seem to report 1/2 hour timezones. Which was the reason I didn't use that. But I'm still unsure if that was the only reason.
I'll be updating the skin so that the people who do like this skin can have the fix.
Again thanks.

Your welcome, I updated my version of the desklet to use you code now rather than my timezone code , it was just a test anyhow that seem to work so i left in there.

OK...what am I doing wrong? First I unzipped the desklet into the Avescripter directory...then tried to add it using the Avedesk desklet "add", but it doesn't show up in the dropdown list under Avescripter. So I deleted the folder and renamed the .zip to .aveinst and double-clicked on it and the folder was once again put in the desklets/avescripter/ah's-weather path....but it still doesn't show up under the Avescripter tree when trying to add a desklet through the control panel. I'm using the latest (.16) version of Avescripter....and I've added other desklets successfully to it in the past....what am I missing?
EDIT: For grins I just added the Aeroweather desklet and it shows up fine in the Avescripter list....this is really frustrating

Half,
Did you check to see if the XML file is in the sub directory? I'm wondering if the file you downloaded is "corrupted"

Yep...AH's-Weather.xml from 2/17/2006 size 16,852 I opened it with notepad and it looks fine (not that I could tell "bad" xml anyway - but the last line is "" which tells me it isn't truncated anyway).
AHA! I opened a different weather .xml file to compare....
The AH's XML file has the line:
"
http://www.w3.org/20...Schema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="C:Program FilesAveDesk13DeskletsAveScripterSDKwidgets.xsd">"
I shortened it to just "" (like what the other weather desklet's XML file had) and now it shows up in the Avescripter list...haven't tried to configure it yet...but at least it's showing up.

Odd...but the desklet works fine with that line edited. I wonder why I'm the only one to have an issue with it.
