Is there a relatively simply way to alter the wallpaper image on the flyakite logon/logoff screens so that it matches my own wallpaper. For instance, I went to the Flyakite folder under the Windows folder on my harddrive, and in the subfolder logonui.exe (I think it's called), replaced the image labeled 100 with the wallpaper i'm currently using. However, upon re-start it didn't change, that is, the same deep blue aqua wallpaper that Flyakite has as the default was there. I'd like it to have Flyakites logon panel over the wallpaper that I am using.

Thanks.

I'm not sure, but if you replaced the files in those folders, don't you need to update the regular windows files, with Flyakite's tool?

That's very possible. I don't know as I am a total novice at this. DO you what folders those are located in? Or does anyone reading this? Thnx.

That only returns files to Flyakite-staus that have reverted to XP default. But thanks.

What tneo's talking about is that you need to force Flyakite to recognize your modded file instead of overriding it.

flyakite said:

With v3.0, to force update a file, the System Files Updater had to be called via the command line with the name of the file to update, like /shell32.dll.

By command line, do you mean the Run function?

Ok, i'll try. (although I might be wrong)

1.) Put logonui.exe into place.
2.) Click Run and type cmd.exe.
3.) Type in
 cd C:WindowsFlyakiteOSX

4.) Find that location in Explorer and figure out which file runs the System File Updater. Don't run it!!!!
5.) Type the name of the executable in the Commant Prompt with /logonui.exe. i.e. if the Updater is located at C:WindowsFlyakiteOSXsfupdate.exe type in
sfupdate.exe /logonui.exe

6.) Restart your computer and it should work. (I don't have a computer to test this on though)

Thanks for your reply.

Here's what I've done:

1. Opened C:WINDOWSFlyakiteOSXResourceslogonui.exe in Explorer;

2. Placed the desktop image I want to use in that folder. (It's .bmp file.) I renamed the wallpaper image that Flyakite uses from "100" to backup.100. I renamed my file "100";

3. Clicked on Run in the Start menu and typed cmd.exe;

4. Typed "C:WINDOWSFlyakiteOSXSystem Files Updater.exe" /logonui.exe and pressed enter

Then System Files Updater Wizard came up. I clicked OK to update, and it scanned some files and replied "Your System is already up to date. No files need updating at this time."

5. I restarted my computer, but the same Aqua wallpaper installed by Flyakite was there.

If you or anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong, please do. Thanks all.

ResHack says "This is not a Win32 executable file" when I do that.

It didnt tell me that when i opened it, here's what i did step by step

1.Converted current wallpaper to BMP

2.Launched reshacker and opened logonui located at c:windows/system32/logonui.exe

3.Replaced bitmap 100 with wallpaper BMP and saved the logonui on my desktop

4.Used replacer (search google if you dont have it) and replaced the logonui in the system32 folder with the one on my desk

If you did what explained above it should work

Ok, sorry to return to this subject that I'm sure everyone figured was resolved, but the procedure outlined above works, but there's still a problem. There's a moment or two before the Flyakite Logon screen appears, where the original flyakite aqua bitmap image still comes on. it only lasts for a second or two. Does any know where THAT bitmap is stored so that i may reshack that as well? Thanks.

HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTControl PanelDesktop -> Wallpaper

Modify the value to be "C:WINDOWSFlyakiteOSXResourceslogonui.exe100.bmp" without the quotes. In the 3.5 update this is what the default value will be, so that if you make a change to the 100.bmp file, the bitmap image on the screen before the Logon Screen changes as well.

Also, the 3.5 update will make updating the files much, much, much easier. You will simply have to change the resource, and run a new tool selecting the file you want to update, and there you go.
