Hi, yesterday I removed Flyakite from my PC and it seems like it killed my IE. My mistake was, that I installed IE7.0 last week while Flyakite was running. Now it looks like Flyakite restored the IE DLLs from before it was installed (6 months ago or maybe a little earlier). So, what I have now is an IE7 that looks like an IE6 and doesn't work properly.

Here's the two error messages I get:

InternetGetSecurityInfoByURLW could not be located in the dynamic link library WININET.dll

and:

The indicated procedure could not be found

The last one is translated from the German message, so maybe the english message is a bit different.

Any Ideas how I can restore a functioning IE6? I guess the best way would be to remove the IE completely and install it again, but I have no idea how to do that.

Thanks

Go to Add/Remove Programs, tick Show Updates at the top, and scroll down until you see IE7 listed.

apparently once you install IE 7, you can't go back to 6-i know because i had a problem with some software and when i called tech support and i told them that i had upgraded to 7 and tried to go back to 6 they said once you upgrade you can not roll back-try using a differnt iE shell like maxthon or something like that-

hope this helps

It's amazing what you can find with Google.... (IE6 Download: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en)

As for being able to uninstall IE7, you can. Like Desides said, in Add/Remove Programs check "Show Updates" at the top, and IE7 will be listed seperately.
