I could have sworn someone bugged me to give him more powers while he was just a newsie and then asking me to suggest him as a new chief newsie when i get promoted to a mod

But I digress, let's go back to Tricky and his application cause i'm pretty sure noone else will show up

And the fact i can't spell was actually a plus in my application. I even signed the contract with an X

and how many positions are you looking for..? And do you need a Chief News Poster bod? and why do we have leap years? and why is the sky blue but the sun yellow?

Newsposters we have now: 13 in the database, 2-4 available.
Positions we're looking for: As many as we can get. Better to have too many than too few.
Chief Newsposter: No one signing up now will become chief newsposter any time soon, if at all. No instant promotions .
Leap Years: A systemic flaw in the Gregorian calendar most easily solved by the addition of these leap years.
Sky blue but the sun yellow:The color blue has the shortest wavelength, which is why we see that for most of the day. The sun's nuclear reactions emit energy, and as a medium-level star, this heat is output with a color of yellow.

And all that without looking anything up (other than the newsposters in the database, hehe). Can't vouch for the last two, though.

Sorry if I'm being thick but how do you mean 13 in the database, 2-4 available? Does that mean you have 2-4 active newsposters and 13 backup members who could become newsposters? or that you have 13 newsposters but on 2-4 are active???

Also when do we hear if our application has been sucessful ?

I check the forums most days, no i check it every day...

Ive been here for about 16 months, don't normally submit anything other that questions and praise... so I would love to give back to the community. I follow all the release types (walls, icons, themes, widgets etc), so i wouldn't only be posting about one topic.

Often thought it would be cool to be a newsposter, and will be happy to work any day you need me.

If the time difference is a factor, i think my sleep patterns are irregular enough to even it out anyway... and i seem to be on frequently when the mods and frequent posters are on too...

The front page uses WordPress. There are actually 15 authors, excepting Timan, Unbe and myself, but most of them don't post. Only 2 and 4 are active. The rest aren't so much backup--they've simply left or have become somewhat unreliable.

Tricky, unless I'm missing something, you haven't even submitted anything. Why bother asking when an application would be successful if you don't even have one? Seriously, though, everyone will hear once it's apparent that the applications have been accepted. The thread will likely be closed and PMs will be sent out (regardless of whether you're accepted or not, you will receive a PM).

About asking too many questions--as long as they're legitimate, I don't care that much .
