any idea why this is happening?
edit: nevermind, i found out my shortcut to searchspy had -noicon as a parameter.. =
this is the first spotlight clone that i actually like keeping open, since it can be placed at the bottom
is it possible to remove the shadow? and possibly changing the "SearchSpy" text <.<;

When people spend months developing apps why dont they just spend a few hours writing a few instructions and tips and including it with the program, it would save us all a lot of time.
P.S. thanks for a great app ...........

Objectbar users can already use it. As stated in the very first post! Just use the parameter -noicon at the end of the shortcut to SearchSpy. So your icon in ObjectBar shortcut would look someting like: Path to SearchSpy/SearchSpyMenu.exe -noicon
Simple, eh?
That being said, I would really like a floating button that could be added to the taskbar like Sean was asking for. One that the user could define which image was used or a default image with the same color-shiftability. Also, I'd like to second the addition of a saturation slider so that we can have grays and whites as well.
Thanks for this great application and we all look forward to its developement!

Check it out for yourself. I had the same problem, it didn't return any results, but I had the firewall set to Block most so it didn't ask me. Thanks to you guys now I've enabled local access for it.
And you're wrong TheGent, GDS has a big text red option where it informs you it sends information to the Internet for "customizing your experience" purposes, BUT YOU CAN TURN THAT OPTION OFF! It never asked me to connect to the net, and it has no Internet access configured in my firewall. Check it out, it's a great app.

I agree that you can stop GDS from accessing the internet- just disable the 'advanced features' and block it using your firewall. Also you may need to stop googledesktopmail asking for internet access by telling it not to index your gmail account.

hmm.. for me it didnt ask for internet zone access, but trusted zone access. maybe set the "search spy.exe" to allow access to the trusted zone?
