This is the new version of my 'Tiger Sytem Preference' project, remade using Visual Basic 6 instead of the previous MMB ActionScript programming language. The use of the VB6 code made possible the following new features:

-Custom windows round corners
-Dragable and Mac-looking interface, with the default close and minimize buttons on the left and with original graphics used on the real System Preferences.
-New, transparent menu from the info (i) button for easy access to help, website, close and About screen.
-New application icon.
-New, animated About screen.
-A little bit less ram consumption due to a more efficient code usage.
-Smaller application size.
-Mouse over and down effects on buttons and icons.
-11 custom icon spots and labels for users to add their own elements
-Ability to modify 95% of TSP2 appearance through the skin.ini file, including icons, label and category header text, buttons, buddy and top backgrounds, and icon paths.

Other features are:

-New tutorial document that explains how to create your own custom skins or elements.
-Included 3 background files, plus default icons used on the original System Preferences.
-Installer/unistaller.
-Spanish and English versions
-100% free for everyone, with no adware or spyware.
-New version of TweakGDS
-New program added: CPUz, linked to the processor icon.

Requirements:

-Browser such as IE or Mozilla to be able to visit the website.
-Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to see the Tutorial document.
-Text Editor of your preferences to edit the ini files

I hope you all like it and make good use of it. If you would like to see some screenshots you can visit my blogsite here. As for download links, I will upload it to our osx-e server as soon as I can. Just temporarely you can get your copy from this link .;)

My Aquification computer died recently, so I can;t use it untill I get it working again :(

It's basically a perfect clone of the original TSP, but it's skinnable. Where's the ****?

I love it. I'm using it right now in place of Win Control Panel (grr)

Happy to hear that most people like it and are using it. It is by far the closest clone of system preferences ever done before. This project as some of you may know was done completelly by me a couple of months ago using MMB Actionscript. But this new version was built using Visual Basic 6, and with the huge help of a good friend, DJ WIliams, or some of you know him as Dremation. Thanks to him and also to the small help of users from both osx-e and macthink online communities the project was comleted succesfully and here is the result, a program most of you like, highly customizable and great looking.

For the bad comments, I am cool with that. People have the right to say what they think and I do not get mad with that, that's why I do not have enemies. lol, so feel free to say whatever you think of the project. Also, make sure you read the skinning tutorial. I would love to see what new skins you, the user, can create for TSPv2. Whenever you do one, let me know so that I can keep track of them, check them out and let other people know.

It's great to have something new with a Mac look and feel AND that has true functionality. This qualifies on all counts. A keeper, indeed. Kudos!

I get a large white box behind the System Preferences window... any ideas as to why?

@Edit
Nevermind, it seems that TopDesk (Otaku Software) is the cuplrit.

Sorry for the delay in replying to the questions posted above. For some reason I do not get email notifications when people post here. I heard of the problem with TopDesk and TSP, but not idea why that happens. Has something to do with TopDesk I believe. For the tutorial error, do you have Adobe PDF installed and working? It shouldn't give any errors, but let me know. Anyone out here having the same problem? If so please specify when does this problem occurs, ex: at the end of the install, or when clicking on the Start menu link, or when clicking on the tutorial link from the (i) button inside TSP.

Any chance you might release a version that doesn't draw its own shadows (it doesn't have to be shadow-able via WinFX or anything... just sans the shadows.)

only pity is that system preferences doesn't have a "software" tab, which is why I can't use this to replace control panel, I need to use "add and remove programs" so often.

nice work otherwise, I was surprised to see CPU-z pop up when I installed flyakite yesterday :D

hi!

i really love your program! great work!

but i have some suggestions/problems:
1. after clicking the info->website there is a runtime error and the program exits
2. as i wanted to remove some icons, i recognized that they have a fixed position. so a "gap" appears on removing the ini entry. maybe it is possible to insert the icons dynamically.
3. so it would be cool to make an additional ini setting like targetlabel, to set the lable where the icon should appear
4. i wanted to translate the tool to german, but the names of the programs are often too long for your program. so many icon lables are cut off on the left and right side.

i'm looking forward to a new version :D

PS: sorry for my english ... i am used to speak german ;)
