Ok, first of all go to taskmanager. Right click yzdock/mobydock and set its priority to "Above Normal". Run a Ram-defragging utility to improve overall + dock speed, something like
Hare.
Hope this helps!
Oh, I forgot to mention how happy I am that Aqua-soft is back up. Hope it stays up this time..

It might just be my outdated 700mhz Duron...but when I did that I noticed problems playing my music through Kazaa. If I was playing an mp3 and moved the cursor over Y'z it would make the song skip. Just thought I'd throw that info out there and see if any of you experienced the same thing, or maybe a way to fix that problem.

Yeah, messing with priorities can be both a good and bad thing depending on how the apps all interact. One solution I found is useful is to get a commercial app like 'PriorityMaster' which lets you set all the priorities of all the apps you want so they behave nicely with each other. It costs a few bucks but at least it will load everything at the priority 'you' want, rather than everything being set to Normal. Very useful little app.

Is there a way to tell a program to run, by default, in a higher priority? Without using a 3rd party program?

I dont think so... you can only specify for the apps that are running. But let me check.. http://www.download.com>

I found two option
MyRun
and
Priority Launcher
MyRun uses a GUI to make files similar to .bat files. It can launch multiple programs with one file, good if you want to run multiple Y'z or Mobys etc and can change priority and can pause before and after launching.
Priority Launcher is just a cmd line app that can launch an app with a different priority.
Example( from readme.txt)
Quote
prioritylauncher [-i|h|n|r[w]]
options (optional) :
i=idle (this is the default anyway)
h=high (bad news)
n=normal (why are you bothering?)
r=realtime (prepare for a cold reboot)
w=wait till loaded before setting priority

Here's another Tip!!!
This one really made me v.v.v.verrry sad
Cursorxp slows down yzdock/mobydock! I was sooooo dissapointed since I absolutely love the OS X pack for C XP.

actually i like the cursprxp pack more because of higher (32-bit) image quality and smoother animations. Haven't checked out iceman's yet though. I'll do that now.

To answer the question of starting application with preset priority.
Use the "start" command (not the Start button), but the start command.
To see what is available, type "start /?" at a dos window/command prompt.

I set my Mobe Dock and Winamp priority at AboveNormal so that my music wouldn't skip because I had that problem as well when my Mobe Dock was on and now everything seems to be running smooth, but what can I use so that the priority of Mobe Dock to stay in AboveNormal...?
