I entered my ZIP code and hit enter, nothing... I did the same for my town, nothing. I cannot get this to work, all the other AveScripts work, just not this one, I even installed the updates, for the maps or what not. Both my ZIP and town are found on weather.com, and I am in the US.

hey man...man i have tried following everyone's instructions...but they all seem to be very random and all over the place...there's no specific instructions on how to install d-weather. i installed avedesk 1.2 and i downloaded Avescripter. What do i do from this point onwards? people told me to double click on the avescripter and then on the d-weather (after changing extension from .zip to .aveinst)...it still doesn't work. i even downloaded Windows Script Control thing from windows website, still NO LUCK!...Can someone please be kind enough to give me step by step instructions?...thank you very very much.

1st You need avedesk 1.3. go to www.avedesk.org and get your latest avedesk.
2nd Get the "Beta" version of avescripter it has many new features and bug fixs. (one of which is detect if windows script is installed correctly)
3rd Download from that site the d-weather too. It should already have aveinst exentsion.
4th in the AveDesk directory, make sure you have run the "Register" bat file.
5th Now should be able to double click the aveinst file and it will install the desklet.
6th (opt) if it didn't install (since I can't remember if it does automatically) When you go to the control panel, you should see and option AveScripter with a bunch of skins, Select the weather and your done.
Hope this helps

If its not in weather.com, then someone need to make a new desklet that would work the same way and use the yahoo xml/rss feed instead.
This is your xml/rss feed for you, but you need to make a new desklet to use it, since it doesn't have the same structured information that weather.com gives.

i have to ask that.
is it possible to change the site the weather is taken from? the thing is that...there are quite some german weather stations which are not listed in weather.com but they are listed on accuweather.com
thats the weather site, apple takes the information from for dashboard weather...
could somebody modify the weather widgets for avedesk, so that they'll work with accuweather??
i dont have the knowledge to do...so....hopefully.....maybe it could be integrated in avedesk 2.0 final or something like that...
would be great!

Someone with good knowledge of javascript and parsing can get. Avescript allows you to download a "webpage" or Image. So you should be able to download a requested page. Then have javascript parse the entire "Page" which I think would be a string.
Desklet.IO.URLToFile will get a page and save it to a file.
Desklet.IO.GetTextFile will open the selected file return a String so that it can be parsed.
