Just for ones who like old-fashioned dashboard-like weather widget.
(Slightly Updated. Check it out!)
Download
Here
Installation instruction:
download it, replace extension "
zip" to "aveinst", and then double click it.
D-Weather will be on the avescript branch in your widget tree of Desklet-Add
dialog.
Updated includes:
- the author field is updated
- long and short city name is togglable.
By the way, AveScripter is so wonderful. Thanks pcm.

ah.. you bet me to it.. I had a scripter version of dashboard one too... (Since thats what I originally programmed with) Just had to adjust a few things.
Can you upload it to the site? Or do you want me to do it? We are trying to have all skins blah blah in one site now instead of lost links and searching the forums.

all right....I'm an idiot....I downloaded this and it looks great, but how do I change the city settings and such?
edit n/m....I found the "flip" button But....is there a way to get the "state" abbreviation to show? e.g. instead of just showing "Syracuse" it would show "Syracuse, NY"

Are you talking about the drop downlist only showing Syracuse? or the fron the of the desklet?
If your talking about the drop down, I can't do anything about that. Thats the direct feed from weather.
If your talking about the front of the desklet. Then that is very easy. All you need to do is open the XML file of the weather. Located in the directory of weather. Look for !XMLTRANSTXT:[substring-before(//loc/dnam,',')] and replace it with !XMLTXT:[//loc/dnam]
Hope its the front your talking about

I meant on the front of the desklet....I edited the XML file as you said and closed and restarted Avedesk...but it's still showing just the city name. I also tried deleting and re-adding the desklet to the control panel. I guess I'll play with it some more. Do I have to play with the "width" parameter?
Edit: n/m.....the string appears in 3 spots and I only changed 2 the first time....thanks for all the help

Ya.. it appears 3 times, Mini,Normal,Full mode.
You might have to adjust the width, if it isn't large enough
Glad I can help

your are getting it in a mine format, try a right click save target or link as then save to your desktop or somewhere where you know how to get too, then call the puppy from there...

I double-clicked on the ave-scripter installer first, then double-clicked on this package (while Avedesk was running)...then I opened the Avedesk control panel, selected desklets/add desklet and this one appeared in the expanded list under Avescripter, and I told it to add item.
