RK Launcher 0.4 - FEATURE REQUESTS

Hi qhn... It's Ok.
That formum is for features request, so, i've just put the features that i want..
I agree to RK Launcher, I know it's a good software, but, if you look around, you will see there's such 10 apps that do almost the same, an all of it, emulating MacOSX... I think there's is another way. I'm not a developer, unfortunally. I'm a designer. But it's easy to see that the most of developers have the Mac Dock in mind... And I just have proposed some changes that that fit better with Windows OS, nothing more.
But RK it's ok. But is not better than similar others: RocketDock, YZ, ObjectDock... etrc... etc...
So, I've proposed a real change.
Cheers.

i am using samurize, and to launch a client i can make a shortcut like this: "C:Archivos de programaSamurizeClient.exe" i="client name"
buti can't place a shortcut like that in my rklauncher dock, so i have to launch it from the desktop
what i want is the posibility to make shortcuts like that in the dock
thanx

It would be nice, when I can choose the location where I minimize the applications.
You can. If you close RK Launcher, then go to wherever RK launcher is on your system, and open up:
RKLauncher.conf
In notepad.
Then edit this variable:
minimizePosition = -2
To whatever you like. 0 is the furthest point to the left. Hence -2 is always one left of the far right hand side.

Agrees. I think it would be sweet to get the icon to stop jumping when the app opens (like on macs) but I dunno if it's possible.
Also, the jumping isn't that great. I mean it's fine, but it's more of an up and down rather than a jump. Could be nice if this could be tweaked.

You already can. Go to behavior and put "Number of animations" at 1.

Indeed, RK Launcher seems to be using a linear interpolation, instead of the absolute value of a sinus, for icon animation (a sinus gives an animation much more similar to a jump, and I think is what guys at Apple are using to get those smooth animations).

Hey, just downloaded the latest Leopard version and I'm chuffed to bits
It's sleeker, slicker and cleverer than before. I'm especially taken with the fact apps minimized to the dock are still available via Alt+Tab, and the kkMenu's pretty handy too.
Since this thread is here, though, I may as well be picky and ask for perfection...
Would it be possible, in a future release of RKLauncher, for the dock itself to be reflective? I love my reflective-looking icons, but one, they're a pain to create, and two, the bounce effect just makes them look a bit daft. If the dock surface could be reflective, it would automatically reflect an normal icon, and hopefully create a realistic looking effect when the icons bounced or were magnified.
It would be nice......
Thanks a lot, hope I'm not making too wildly unreasonable a request. Desktop pimps everywhere are forever in your debt

I use Linux almost as much as I use windows. and in linux I use Cairo-Dock. This app automatically makes the reflections of each icon/docklet. This feature shouldn't be to hard to implement.
The stacks docklet recently released is beautiful. I would like to see more development and customization options.
One feature I would like to see is an option to further edit a plugin / docklet. like an option to import .py animation script or a script converter / importer.
the ability to import Web Widgets through copy paste or drag and drop would be nice as well.

is this still under development at all? doesnt seem to have had an update in awhile
//edit
ive got a request, i use this all the time and have LOADS of icons on it but i cant fit them all on
would it be possible to implement something so when it stretches in size it doesnt go over the edges of your screen, and then if icons dont fit allow the mouse wheel or mouse over the top/bottom or left/right to scroll through the icons? that would be really really good

Hi,
I would love to have an option, to view the Launcher on the desktop, and come to front, when i move the mouse to screen-edge.
At the moment, i use the setting "always on top" and "autohide", but it hides, even when there are no other windows.
Something like "stay on desktop always" and "bring to front".
I hope you understand what I mean :-D
Rocketdock can do that.
Btw.: I love RK! It opens folders much faster, than rocketdock & co. Thats why I changed to RK

Hi!
In past weeks I've tried many dock applications and now I see that RK Launcher is the best, even though it's still beta.
But there is some inconvinience in it. In macs and in stardock objectdock if you launch a program from dock, it'll be highlighted and if u minimize it and click on it programm will just launch the window which was opened, it won't try to launch the same app twice.
+In ObjectDock if you launch applications and they aren't in the dock they will appear there, like if they were minimized. This is VERY convinient in case if u have LOTS of open windows at once and you want to browse them, but none of them are minimized => they won't appear in dock. So it takes you to press minimize button on each of them to get the window u need.
It would be awesome if you will every open window will show up in dock, like in ObjectDock and if RK won't launch same app more than once.
Sorry for bad english.
Thank you!
