In the up coming weeks we will be upgrading the forums and the site to the new version of vBulletin our
preferred forum software to 3.5. Since this is a community we want your input, one the progress up the new site. We will be changing things, nothing dramatic, just things to make this site feel more like aqua. This thread is for discussion on ideas, suggestions, feedback, whatever... for the new updated site and skin.

So I'll start out, the development of the skin can be found here at this address. http://www.aqua-soft.org/dev/ I ask you not to register or post if you have access to do so. You may login at times to see the progress of the skin, find bugs things like that. We want this skin to be much more complete than the one we have now. So we are all ears on your input.

If you are going to add suggestions, please try to add a screenshot / mockup if it has to do with ui changes. These help
a lot, and are easier for other users to understand what you are trying to describe.

Just do keep in mind this skin is and will always be a work in progress till it shows up here, so if something looks out of place, it might be like that on purpose, but do post it if no one else has.


Updates
9/30 - Aqua-Soft v2 skin set made, start of development.
10/1 - Basic forum wrapper setup as well as default toolbar with dropdowns.
10/7 - Breadcrumb added, with private message bubble.
10/28 - Forum Home updated.
10/29 - Forum Display updated with inline modding.

Damn, I though I had the secret portal into the inner workings of Timan's mind, until he made it public . But this is very nice! I'm only wondering, will there be a Unified/New Age iTunes style for A-S with this new skin?

I'm pretty happy with the forum as it is right now , but a unified or some other interesting skin would make it badass !

I really like the skin. it seems to blend better with the look and feel of tiger.

If you could keep the Mark Forums read feature (but hide it away), I think that would be very useful, as would a Forum Leaders page (not the vBulletin default, as that may be too obtrusive), so that the n3wbs know who the mods are.

Skinwise, perhaps look into a different color than the grey currently in use?
The vBulletin messages look very...dull.

Can't wait to see this completed, though.

I'm willing to bet Timan won't be porting every major Mac skin to the A-S forums, and we'll be lucky to see anything other than Aqua and Graphite.

Also, the Thanks button I liked, but perhaps using the vBulletin Rep system would be better?

No, if you guys read the other thread, you would see I will be posting a zip that contains every image and a stylesheet, you simply edit those, and it will change the whole look of the skin.

Yep, reason its at a specific width now is because I want to make sure everything can fit at a tiny width. It will be fluid here on aqua-soft, but giving people that donated the option to customize this skin how ever they want.

what about the ipb version? will you be adding a developmental version of that online, for us to look at and help squash bugs!!!

vBulletin first, then IPB, I have both installed on the site, just want to get one done first, because the IPB one is a port from the vBulletin one.

People that donated will be sent the updated version the day it is ready. Followed by the invision board version a few weeks after that.

It might take a month to do this, I am the only one making these skins and I have little time to sit here all day and finish the skin so don't expect it done in a week.
