Hello,
ive recently had a problem after uninstalling the most recent release of flyakite (2.0 i believe). after uninstalling, i restarted and am caught in the boot up loop of death! it loads the normal windows xp way showing the windows xp logo but suddenly goes to a black screen..... then restarts.

i have read on other sites that the new flyakite is not compatible with SP2.. i don’t know if this is true, but just thought I would throw that info out there.

i have in other forums that im not the only one with this issue. the problem is that the replies all say something along the lines of "go into windows repair mode and replace all the system files".

i am pretty good with computers... but the idea of messing around with the system files still makes me uncomfortable.

i was hoping someone would either have some advice on how to fix this problem..... or some advice on how to replace these files in the windows folder.

im desperate! any help is much MUCH appreciated!!!

I am running SP2, and removed Flyakite 2.0 yesterday without a single problem o_O. My adivce would be to just "blow it up" (figuratively speaking) and do a complete reformat and have a fresh install of windows. Good luck :/.

I remember I had that problem a long time ago...except it was when I installed some new hardware. I tried everthing and then I just gave up and unplugged the thing. Then 20 mins later I come back and plug it in and everything was fine o.O" But well that was a really old screwy comp that I trashed soon after so i dunno...

Take out your drive, stick it in another computer (make sure you're booting from the other computers hard drive of course i.e. change the pins so it is a slave) replace all the current system files with the backed up ones made by flyakite, take it out, stick it bk in your computer (change pins again ;P ) and cross fingers. If this fails. Format. If that fails. Buy a mac (only as a ast resort of course :P )
