This is really, REALLY awesome.
Just one thing, though--Protected AAC files will play through the iPod w/Foobar Passthrough...is there still no way to get local protected files playing?
This is just so cool...one of the best things to come out of the A-S community in a while. It's people like you who make it a vibrant, exciting place, people like you who make it fun to be here.
[Edit: Are the skins supposed to change immediately? They only do it on restart of iTunes...I wouldn't know, as I usually keep the default skin]
Thanks again

-DarkPhoeniX- - again, what OS and SP are you using?
AoW777 - it means that Multi-Plugin couldn't detect your current resolution, or you have no supported resolution with the same bits-per-pixel value of your current resolution (that's quite impossible, unless you have bad drivers). what's your BPP? what graphics card and drivers are you using?
nightcrawler1089 - it plays files on the iPod using the default engine, not through Foobar2000. that's why it works. there is no way to play protected files through Foobar2000.

I'm sorry... you misunderstood my question, mostly because I misphrased it. Gah, the way I wrote that made me sound like a no0b, asking a question that was in the release notes
I MEANT to say that Protected AAC files will play from the iPod...I remember seeing that you got it working through the default sound engine.
My question was--the protected AAC files on my local hard drive don't play at all, even through the iTunes Sound Engine. Is that a bug, or is it a problem you can't circumvent?
Thanks!

shockme17 - I wasn't online in that time.
damn, I'm busy this summer
I have 2 university courses to study for until mid-September (i'm a high school student, that's why only 2).
AoW777 - maybe try playing with your resolution/bpp settings and it will show the info (no need to restart iTunes, it gets the info when you open the preferences dialog). I'm using nVidia drivers too and everything is fine. it shouldn't even by driver dependant.
nightcrawler1089 - I don't know of any way to directly determine if a track is protected or not, and Foobar2000 doesn't notify the plugin if an error occured while opening the file. If anyone knows of any open source code (not GNU though) that can check whether a track is protected, please notify me.

localhost, would it be possible to make the eject button at the bottom right of iTunes, to always function as the iPod Eject button instead of ejecting the CD Drive. The button becomes the iPod Eject button when you are viewing the music on your iPod. Here is a screenshot:

Is there anyway you can tap into the iTunes detection system? It's part of the displayable Info, listed under "Kind."
I've used it before for Smart Playlists of all my Purchased Music (yes, I know there already is one).
Hope this helps,

P.S: Thanks

I have a skin almost finished that was used with the previous version version of the multi-plugin. I have installed the new version of multi-plugin and pasted my skins folder into the skins folder and it won't show up as a skin that can be used. I know this is part of the new plugin, but is there anyway of knowing why my new skin wont show up? Thanks

The folder hierarchy was changed.
Should be simple to fix..

For skin developers:
I've decided to change the skin folder hierarchy in the next release.
It will be like the following: Skinsskin_nameITUNESVERSION
That will be the folder where the skin files and the Extended folder are.
ITUNESVERSION will be a normal iTunes version string, like 4.9.0.17. You can replace any of the numbers in the version string by 'x' if you don't want Multi-Plugin to refer to them. For example, 4.9.0.xx will work with any version that begins with 4.9.0, and 4.x.x.xx will work with any iTunes 4 version.
It's important to leave the length of the version string unchanged, for example, don't use 4.xx.x.xxx or 4.9.0.x.
This way a skin developer may include skins for different versions of iTunes without confusing users.
This will of course make current skins not work (the files stay the same though, it's just the folder hierarchy), but remember Multi-Plugin 0.6x is a beta.

shockme17 - that's not a known bug. at first I thought it might be DEP that causes it, but I enabled it and it still works. I'm currently getting all the security updates, I never ran Windows Update since SP2
nightcrawler1089 - This could probably be done by reverse-engineering some QuickTime components but I don't really know how. In the next release, I'll make tracks that have |No Foobar2000| in their comment not to play through Foobar2000.

wooooo! thatnks man this looks like a great update....
.....btw another idea for an addition to multiplugin.....the ability to support other mp3 players (ie the drag and drop function....i wouldn't need it as i have 20gig ipod but it would be good if you could use itunes with other mp3 players!
