Wait, so this time around, all Aeroshell needs to run is Samurize and that's it? Or Avedesk too?

AeroShell uses Samurize and a couple of other third-party freeware apps to create a Windows shell replacement. It features some AveDesk and Litestep integration -- meaning that if you have AveDesk 1.2 installed, you can launch the AveDesk CPL right from the shell (thanks AndreasV for the little script to do it with ). We have BIG plans for Litestep integration, but they are unfinished and untested by anyone other than myself and another Team Member. Meanwhile, I continue to work on the AveDesk/SysStats-based prototype (which will get MUCH more attention, now that its' Samurize counterpart is near the end of the current development cycle).

In it's current state, however, it IS fairly complex to get set up. I don't recommend it if you aren't completely familiar with shell swapping and Windows in general. I've been working on and off on an installer that will take care of this (which will ALSO get more attention now). But for now, it being a Beta, it's best that if you aren't good with shell swapping that you wait for the official release.

If you already have and are familiar with Samurize, this won't be a big leap into a new world... well, not too much.

Once Samurize is installed, go to the AeroShell Forums Release Thread, read Betaguy's install instructions, then launch the resulting Shell Swapper config. I would suggest running AeroShell in "Co-Op" mode. This means that Explorer will still be the shell but AeroShell will be loaded in addition to it. Similar to running Blackbox on top of Explorer until you get a feel for it.

If you don't like it or are having too much trouble, do the following:
1. Go to your Start Menu > AeroShell > Shell Swapper
2. Choose Explorer as your shell
3. Logoff or Reboot

The amount of bugs that I've experienced have not been anything dire. Mostly annoyances or simple theme mistakes. The Shell Swapper and Theme Loader configs work right out of the box if the simple instructions are followed. Like Betaguy said, past screenshots can found at his and my own DeviantArt pages. Mostly, they are of past builds.
