[how to] getting rid of 1px "glassy" border Rate Topic: -----

i was gonna post this in the windows help section, then i figured it out. maybe someone else will find this helpful:

i have highlighted the areas where you can actually see what i'm talking about. (the black parts of the wallpaper just hide the problem). the deal is, if i restore-down then restore-up, that 1px border goes away...until i either min/max the window or (in firefox only) surf to a new page.

i tried different visual styles, different applications (only outlook 2k3 seems immune from this). well, here's what it wound up being: y'z shadow. i had to change the 'offsets to an inner side' setting from 2 to 4. huh, i always wondered what the hell that setting did! (well, i'm still not exactly sure what it does, other than add another setting you have to futz with!)

anyways, i hope someone finds this helpful.

yeah i had the same problem, i just offset the inner shadow to 5 and that takes care of it

Well...I never knew what that value did either, but I changed it to 5...so we'll see if I notice any differences now...
