As you have noticed, due to some misunderstandings in the newsposting team, the AquaSoft front page hasn`t been (properly) updated in the past few days. However, that will soon change.

Ever since I returned as the head of the newsposting team, I`ve been trying to make AquaSoft's front page better, or at least en-par with front pages of other popular customizing sites. And this can`t be done without a responsible, hard working and devoted newsposting team.

Today, AquaSoft is asking you to help make this community even better and stronger than it ever was.

We are looking for a completely new, fresh and dedicated team of people to take the newsposting duties. This position requires a certain level of fluency in English, at least 50 posts on AquaSoft (it`s a necessary evil) and applicants must be over 16 years old.

Why all these restrictions?
Well, as a newsposter of AquaSoft, you will be our ambassador to the world. You will be responsible for the first impression people will get as they point their browsers to www.aqua-soft.org, and that requires certain qualifications.

If you want to join the newsposting team, post your application in THIS thread. In it, you should state your country of residence (important because of the time-zones and newsposting duties), age, education, the reason why you want to join the newsposting team and your desired newsposting position. Those who get to round 2 will be given a test and they will be noted via a PM about the results.

For now we have these positions open:

- Three daily newsposters
- One OS X application reviewer
- One Windows application reviewer
- One GUI reviewer

If you have any questions regarding this, feel free to PM, email or contact me on AIM.

nightcrawler will also be monitoring this thread and will answer all the questions you might have.

Let the best man (or lady) win ;)

This sounds interesting.

I currently live in the U.S (southern california), I am 19 years old, and a freshman at the University of California Riverside. I want to join the newsposting team because I want to become more involved with A-S and I have enough free time that I feel I could add something useful. I am interested in the "OS X application reviewer" position.

I would also be interested.

I have been a member of A-S for a while and would like to give back to this great community of Mac lovers, and skinners, that is Aqua-Soft. I am 19 years old as well and I an owner of many windows machines, and will soon be the owner of an Apple as soon as it gets off of being backordered (which I hope is very soon :S). I wouldn't mind being a daily news poster, or any place that the current Admins see fit.

My contact information is in my profile if anyone needs to get in touch with me. :)

I would love to be part of the aqua-soft team.

I am 19, i live in australia (east coast), i have both a mac (emac) and a windows machine (AMD athlon 64), finished high school (no uni plans at the moment)

The position im interested in would have to be the OS X application reviewer

The reason i would like to be a newsposter ? i already download 100's of application to test them out so i think it would be great to review them so it will be easier for others to find what they are looking for

In terms of my internet connection i have cable, which is almost never down (i have had it for 5 years and its been down twice)

I use the internet everyday, for aleast an hour a day.

If anymore information is needed, either Private Message me or send me an email.

I'd just like to say that you should seriously consider what this involves before you apply. It's no easy task, and you have to be prepared to put a considerable amount of work into keeping ahead in whichever field you choose to commit to.

I think one of the main issues with newsposting starting off very strongly after a 'recruitment' session such as this then gradually dying off is that people find it a novelty at first. That, or they take on new commitments, and just don't have the time any more. For this reason, I think it will always be the case that Unbeliever (or whoever is in charge) will have to go through this whole cycle every 6 months or so - it's just the way it is.

He's right... If you can't handle to post everyday and/or every week, don't consider applying...

But if you have the free time-It's fun :D

pat is right.

unless you can do this right, don`t apply.
that was one of the reasons i had to demote the last newsposting team.

however, being a newsposter has its benefits.
Staff only forums is just one of them ;)

Oh, that makes tons of tense Unbe. Have dapple tell them that it's quite hard being a newsposter, and they should be extremely devoted above all else to Aqua. You make it sound like they have to cross a fiery pit of burning lava to become a newsposter, and they have to write all their newsposts while doing pushups simultaneously,

AND THEN you tell them that there are benefits. The only benefit I see is if you're a certain head newsposter, and you have fun changing people's newsposting names to crazy, quite embarassing things.

@Mubach--Thanks for moderating this newsposting thread :P.
