I don't know what I'm not doing right. I followed all of the steps that people posted, but when I load Miranda I get an error that says tabsrmm cannot load resource DLL, and that no icons will be shown. What is going wrong? I want bubbles...
I was confused about that too. You have to copy tabsrmms_icons.dll, or whatever it is, from either the iconsxp or icons folder (iconsxp, I'd imagine, if you have windows XP), copy that file into your plugins folder.
I'd also like to say that I'm having difficulty getting the avatars to work... tried putting name.jpg/name.png in the miranda/avatars and miranda/css/avatars, no luck either way.
And I get a "The instruction at "0x003c1398" referenced memory at "0x003c1398". The memory could not be "read". error when I quit Miranda, and when I start it again, I have to click apply again for the "Activate support for external log" deal in order to get the bubbles to work again. Anyone have a -clue- what's going on? There are too many plugins/settings for me to know exactly what is causing this, so I'm very much confused. I have the latest version of everything, and have followed the instructions from the first page of the thread.

Look, It's simple:
Install tabsrmm, and if you already have clist_nicer, install IEview. (You have to install plugins by putting the DLL in the "plugins" folder of Miranda, and for IEview, just unzip it into Miranda's folder.
next, go to Message Sessions---IEView plugin section. There, check "use external CSS...." and find the pm2k5.css.
After that, go on the templates tab and check "use template based html builder, and browse and find pm2k5.html
Make sure under the templates tab, "Show time" is checked, to get the time in the corner of the bubble.
I think that's it, and you're set to go.

Yeah, those steps are pretty straightforward, except that installing tabsrmm isn't as simple as just saying "install tabsrmm". The instructions needed are in the various readme files in the zip, but after following them, I get the error I posted about when I quit Miranda.
Edit: Not sure what I did, but I don't get that error anymore.
Still wondering about avatars, though.

that maybe because ieview is still in alpha stages...
tabsrmm is not that hard 9.9.5 is good. just note there are 2 sets of icons that come with it one for xp one is 256 color. this is the only resource tabsrmm loads you can change this in the option too.

Regarding the crashing problem, it's all because of the IEView plugin, not the skin.
I've tried various IEView "skins" (CSS configs), various settings, various versions of SRMM/tabSRMM, different computers, etc., and crashing still occurs on Miranda exit.
One thing I tried is to have ieview.dll enabled, but start up Miranda without opening any message windows. I was able to exit normally. If I start up Miranda again and open a message window (thus "activating" ieview.dll), I would crash on exit.
I usually receive the paging fault error that most people are describing, but sometimes Windows lets me know there's an illegal operation with ntdll.dll.
Clearly the problem lies with the IEView plugin itself, and if anyone without the crashes can shed some light on this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.
