Hi!
With friends, I am publishing a scientific review, but we cannot afford buying the Myriad Pro collection at Adobe - a font that looks perfect to me.
Then it would be great if we could find something similar to Myriad Pro, but free.
If you have some ideas of non commercial fonts, please give me the title of those fonts and if possible the links : it would be really appreciated.
Thanks a lot for your help and all the best,
Don.

There is "Myriad", not Pro, I believe it is free. But you don't get the Semi-Bold and Black, just Roman, Italic and Bold.

Thanks for the tip, wizard!
Unfortunately, I don't find anything free with Google. It is always sold as "Pro" by Adobe, Linotype or Agfa.
Maybe I don't look for it correctly and you can tell me where to find better.
Furthermore, if you have other fonts in mind that look close to Myriad, I would look at it with a huge interest!
Thanks again and all the best,
Don.

I just did a search for the Myriad font (Myriad Font -pro) on Google and found that it is a little over $20. And unfortunatley, I don't know of a font that is similar. You could try browsing around
http://www.dafont.com/en they sometimes have fonts that look similar to commercial fonts..

Thank you for your kind and quick answers.
The problem with the Soulless Fonts is they are copyrighted by Adobe or Apple. Legally, I cannot use them, or I need to have a personal license of those fonts, and / or a copy of Mac OS X.
I think I will use Bitstream Vera, located on dafont.com, or use Lucida Sans Console, included with Windows XP.
Thanks again for your help!
Best regards,
Don.

I have an idea, maybe looking at the font you can try and reproduce it or something and recreate it for your own use ?

Hi!
gillbates, I will see with this viking if his fonts are extracted from the Apple system or not.
ifido, good idea, but not very useful for a guy like me, very limited in font design (honestly impossible for me).
It is great to see the help I receive from you all! It is the best this forum can give, and I appreciate it a lot - thanks!
Then again: thanks to you both and all the best!
Don.
