I'll try and keep this posting up to date with questions and solutions I see in other threads. Feel free to add your own. I will merge them into this post:

I can't see in AveDesk, were'd it go?
Its probably off-screen. Open the AveDesk control panel from the system tray, you should see the desklet listed. Double-click it and change the window position.

I change the window size in AveDesk but my SysStats config just looks all messed up as a result
I change the window size in SysStats and it all looks great until I re-run AveDesk then it all looks messed up
SysStats desklets don't scale with the window size. They just use the window size to restrict how much of the desktop they occupy (they are cropped in other words). If you want to change the scale of a SysStats desklet you need to do the following (this kinda sucks but until the next release of SysStats its all you have. Plus if you are doing this to a config that uses scripts, all hell will probably break loose and you'll wish you'd never started):

  • Open the Configure meters dialog from the SysStats right-click menu.
  • Add a CompositeOverlay class instance to the list of overlays.
  • Move all of the other overlays into it using the Move Up and Move Down buttons. Make sure you keep the order of the overlays the same.
  • Set the HScale and VScale of the composite ovelay to get the size you want.
When I restart AveDesk my SysStats configs aren't where I left them
You are using an old version of SysStats. Download the latest one from DockEx. Make sure that you replace every occurrence of SysStats (for AveDesk and/or ObjectDock, but not YzDock) with the up to date one.

How do I get rid of the label?
Open the AveDesk control panel from the system tray, you should see the desklet listed there. Double-click it, switch to the Label tab and set type to No label

My weather doesn't update
Bug in SysStats, get a patch here.

The config comes with a font, but I forgot to install it, now I can't get the config to use it
If a config uses a font that isn't installed in your system it will use a substitute instead. Now you have a problem - the substitute font is saved back to the config so it'll never use the right font. This is how you fix it up:

1. Quit AveDesk.
2. Install the font.
3. Re-install the config (or just the .ini file for the config).
4. Re-start AveDesk.

I only ever see the big blue question mark
This only seems to happen on Windows 2000 and possibly machines upgraded from Windows 2000. Again: a bug. Working on it.

Hi I am new with this whole avedesk and sysstats thing. I would like to get this to work because I have found some configs that I really like but I can't seem to get my systats to work. I have gotten the new version of avedesk and the (from what I know) latest version of sysstats, i donwloaded if from the website. Well when I unzip the download and put it in my avedesk folder, which is located in my program files folder on my computer, and replace everything like your other post says when i go turn on avedesk, then go to control panel, and then go to sysstats thing on the left side I have two things one is new and one is cpu meter. Well i will double click or even just drag it over to my desktop like the program says my computer pops up saying avedesk is not working. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit. If you can see anything from what I've typed that is wrong please tell me how to fix my issue. I really want these configs to work.

Thank you so much!
