The application has failed to start because d3d9.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem

Works fine for me... very promising! A quick question: when I activate Expire to 'organize' my running windows, should the background be blue? The app would seem more professional if I could still see my desktop while the windows moved around... but other than that, very nice, very smooth animations. Good work.

I get a similar problem.

Failed to create the Direct3D Device! Check your Direct3D settings.
Looks like it's coded to video cards that can support Direct3D with Expires' custom settings.

When I start the program it says that it "'Failed to create the Direct3d Device! Expire is switching to default DirectX values. Check your Direct3D settings!'" on my card.
My card is a GeForce2MX400 and it worked with the previous expire beta with the same drivers I am using now.

Failed to create the Direct3D Device with default settings! Maybe you card is not supporting the DirectX settings. Exiting now.
and it quits.
I ran dxdiag and did the video tests, they all worked. Running DirectX 9.0b
Using "Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller" (onboard) -- this is a dell computer at work.

Ditto here as well... ran all the DXDiags stuff.
Results:
No problems found.
DirectDraw test results: All tests were successful.
Direct3D 7 test results: All tests were successful.
Direct3D 8 test results: All tests were successful.
Direct3D 9 test results: All tests were successful.
by all accounts, it should be working.
Oh well... it is a beta after all.

FlareX that's also what mine did until I did what I said above. You have to open it and go to the systray icon, right click, pick animations and pick something for ordering and soemething for animation.

How did this fix the problem?
Once the error message pops, the systray icon is useless and the app terminates.

The first thing I did after loading the program was to press F9. That only causes it to "encounter a problem" and then terminate.
I then ran it again and checked the options only to discover that F9 shouldn't do anything. Otherwise, the app works well enough on my Ti4400. I can only turn on 1x Antialiasing though. (Looking at my Graphics Card settings, it looks as if I should be able to do at most 4x.)
