Hi AndreasV and fellow users,
Thought of posting this and i dont know whether i'm right

. But post your suggestions as well.
All the Ave's apps are useful, instead of installing one by one, Why dont you make it as one software bundle, so that in one install all the programs are installed? There can be a custom installation, where you can select the products you want.
All your apps are nice

you dont actually install the apps, you just unzip or unrar them and use them... so this would be somewhat useless.

Well I don't know but I could try and make an installer like that.
What do you think AndreasV ?

Not all programs are like that.... and if it is not like that there can be a software pack of a particular developer...

Here's my opinion of why this would be pointless to do:
The different Ave Apps are being constantly updated. EVERY TIME any of the apps received a new update release the installer would have to be updated as well.
In addition, it would require alot more bandwidth for each update to ditribute. Say for example all the Ave aps, combined in a single installer, weighed in at 20mb+/-. Every time a 1.5mb or 4mb app was updated the full 20mb file would have to be redistributed, requiring 5x, 10x or even 50x the bandwidth.
Not to mention the difficulty in keeping track of all the updates. Is Installer version 4.5 the one with the new AveIcon update, or was that the AveDesk 1.15 fix for the SysStats bug?
In conclusion, I just wouldn't want something like this. I like Ave apps, but I have no practical reason to use all of them. So why would I, or others, waste or time downloading apps we have tried but have no reason to use?

The best way to manage this sort of thing is using the Background Intelligent Transfer Service and library management tools (á la MSN Messenger) - the user could install only the apps that they want, and those apps would be update simply by Ave changing an XML file on his server, along with uploading the new version of the files. This also allows things like pre-release support, and so forth (so only people with particular versions/builds get access to the newest version).

Windows Update is laid back enough, so them lazy folks want:
AveUpdate, ported from
AquaUpdate...
- With integrated "Wow Cool Can't Wait" fast reply button...
- Wakes up your machine from StandBy & Hibernate and fills your desktop
with the latest breakthroughs of our beloved uber coder as soon as they
become available
- Automatically generates your complaints by randomly guessing your
n00b potential and posts them to various boards of interest
The dedicated user instead browses the forums and downloads what he pleases...

However, all of Ave's apps, except for AveDesk, do not actually install. And you dont have to install AveDesk. Which would make this nothing but a self extracting zip file or something of that nature... And useless. Sounds like somebody is just too lazy to look for apps themself

how about putting them on the internet in SEAs with command line extracting (or put them in rars with the rar trial bundled) and make an inno setup app that downloads and runs the SEA or rar extractor for each of them.
