sup homies ;) i decided to break out of my lurcker(spelling?) mode and post about my latest purchase an ati computer case. my friend at work got it for some chick who decided she didn't want it or some ting... and he aske me if i wanted it. i was like what the hell. the case i have is actually this one. when he showed it too me i thought that it was really cool. how it was black and red. all dark and evil just like me  .Sooooo. i just got home with it. and tomaorw im gonna break open my pc and see if i can even attempt to put it in. but i have a bad feeling that it wont be compadible. for thoughs of u who have seen the inside of a vaio will know what i mean when i say that the inside of vaios ARE FREAKING MESSED UP. like the powersuply is cliped onto the side and not on the top like a normal tower is set up. and im not really sure it will work. i just got out of work and im way to tierd to try it now.
im not too worried if it dosn't work. ill just have to wait for my next paycheck and get a new mother board and power suply. i can still use my p4 and ram and such with them.

so my question for all u nice people in aqua land. is...
A). do u think my vaio mother board and power suply will be compadible.
Bee). If not is there anything i can do to MAKE it compadible :naughty:
C). If i was to go out to the store right now, and get a nice new mother board (has to be ddr ram). and a p4.02, what would u recomend(links if possible)
D). read my post and comment on someting tottally irrelavant or (DUN DUN DUNNN) OFF TOPIC :o
E). i didn't tag this thread properly (im talking to u seph ;) )
L)ou. My motherbord is a rip and should be taking off RIGHT NOW!

ok thats enoght sillyness from me. thanks for takeing the time to read my latest debacle and have a safe and good night
oh, and if your too lazy to click on the link, heres a pic of my new tower (yeah i know it looks a little cheesy, but hey my little sisters will think it looks cool

dude i have an old vaio
those things are so cramped up inside, u can barely see whats what.

i think it wud be possible but it wud be a damm annoying job.

my old rx550 was a pain in the ass to upgrade, mobo supported only sd-ram and to upgrade the video card, i had to remove so much **** so i cud atleast see the video card.

wait for some recommendations abt the new motherboard and p4 u shud get, coz i switched to amd and im not in touch with intels.

edit: the vaio cases look pretty damm good actually, i dunno maybe post a pic of ur vaio case

the sony motherboard will probably be a proprietary one, so i doubt it'll fit into an ordinary atx case. if you're lucky, it will, but i wouldn't bet on it.

power supplies are generally standard, but you should look at the connectors. you might consider getting a real psu, though. the ones bundled with these corporate computers aren't the greatest.

it's difficult to make a motherboard compatible. you might be better off getting a new mobo.

i don't know too much about intels, but you might consider the asus boards. they're pretty popular with pc enthusiasts. check out newegg and zipzoomfly for some nice boards.

That case is awesome man :D I think it will work. You might have to cut the
frame up a bit with a grinder to make it fit but don't worry. I just fitted an ATX
mobo into an AT casing (Don't ask me why, you will puke) and it works fine :)

I kinda doubt it will be compatable. As far as a new motherboard goes, you gotta tell us how much you want to spend.

50$ will get you an entry level, not band your head on the wall MB
100 a decent one
175 the BMW of intel boards

As far as the PS is concerned, you can just shove it up there above the rails (if its a good case it will have rails to hold the PS up), mabie tape it in. If the powersupply is just a big box, with 4 screw holes around where you plug it into the wall, its ATX. It would be dumb for sony not to make an ATX PS, because im shure they can get it much cheaper, as far as a MB goes they make thoes themselfs anyhopw (as with the case) so it wouldnt supprise me if it wasnt ATX.

Why dont you try and mod the sony case? Go get a dremel tool, and some plexy and make your own window. You could even do it in a grim shape.

One thing to note with a new motherboard, you should defiantly reinstall windows, so if you dont have a XP version, it might jack the price up, or a little bandwidth, whichever frosts your brownie.

PS youll notice all the links are from newegg. If your buying something get it from them. Only place i get any computer hardware. Cant praise them egnouf.

just saw the pic of ur case - the rx755
same case as my old rx550

dont ya just love the blue neon light at the front and its soooo small

like lostspyder said mod the case and add a window, that will be pretty damm sweet.
if u can do that
i personally dont have the skills and dont know have any friends who can do that, but i do know a store, dont know if its expensive or not tho.

anyways good luck with this project

hey guys. thanks for all the kind replys, i already have the atx case, so it would be pointless to mod the vaio case.
the vaio isn't going in the case. its just not gonna work. the powersuply is way too big, and the mother board that the vaio comes with has an onboard video card that has cause some friction with my gforcefx 5600 card. so it will defetnly be for the best.
im deffently gonna check out the motherboards u linked LS. luckly i have some time to look at some mother boards.
i dont think i need a fancy 170 doller motherboard cuase im only using a intell p4.02. and i have no plains on upgrading to a faster processor. but ill i dont have a problem shelling out some extra cash for a whats good for that.
ill be shur to post pics of the end result in 2 weeks.
if anyone wants to see what power suply im getting of the new case, check out here . its black and red, with red lights. matches perfectly with my new case.
anyway thanks again for giveing me some insite ;)

bananas are green when they aren't ripe, but soon they turn brown and taste like crap.

not sure, gonna strip out everything i can use, ie, my dvd and cdr drives, my 2 sticks of ram, my processor, fopy drive, all that would be left would be the power suply and the mother board.

i might keep it and build get some cheep processor, or i could sell it. again, hadn't thought that far ahead.
