Heya all,

I recently started on a FontBook-clone (because of a request by Juno and made some progress. Windows font APIs are not really... ehrmmm... nice  , so it's a tough job.

I don't know if I will work on this again soon or will have time/possibility to drop by at the A-S boards, so I was thinking why not give out a preview version to the nice folks at aqua-soft (I hope Juno forgives me for this).

What can it do?
  • Shows installed fonts
  • Display not installed fonts
  • Add "fonts collections"
  • Add fonts to certain collections
  • give some detailed information (copyright etc) about the selected font
  • give you a nice looking brushed window with alpha-blended borders
What it can't it do / On the stack for a feature version
  • Disable/Enable fonts (this requires some more ****ty, not documented, work)
  • Sum up / show italic, bold etc fontstyles (lazyness)
  • a proper font-preview thing instead of a editbox (again, lazyness)
Note
There might be some ****ty bugs / lock-ups. Remember, the application is not finished yet.
And yeah, the icon is from another app by me. Need a good one, need help on that (hint).

Disclaimer
This application is not finished and is experimental and in testing fase. Use it on own risk. It might **** your system up maybe. I take no responsibility for any damage that might be possible occur by using this application.

Enjoy it and have a nice and sunshiny day,
Andreas

AndreasV is a MACHINE!

Addition: Just realized the v1.1 thread's last post by AndreasV mentioned "early May" as a release date unless the soccer fields kidnap him.....

Shjit, first I though I just edited that away in your post, but on a second thought I was thinking that that might look inappropriate.
There is some delay in AveDesk 1.1 release. One of the 1.1-team-members recently got an offer for a job of his dreams, so he needed some time to prepare his portfolio and things.

Rain for me in Germany!

..But your app looks very cool. I can't wait to see it activating various fonts.
Now i'm using ATM Deluxe for Win. It works good but the dev. stoped 4 years ago!
So i am happy to see a skinable application grew up witch (perhaps) can replace
ATM for me!

Is it possible to save the position of the font-info window? I have to pull it up every time i start your Fontbook.

Anyway.. GREAT

...Cheers
