pretty cool!
you know what also can be done to improve the aliasing on the edge of the screenshots ? the screenshots could have a 1px transparent border around them and the bilinear filtering would take care of smoothing it with what's behind when in diagonal (kinda faking FSAA)
dunno if u thought that in the future, but anyway

In that first pic why is the scrollbar like that. Did directx9 do that or is this just a sample screenshot that was used for the texture?
Edit: Doh. Was IE shrinking it that made some funny colors appear in the scrollbar area.

Lol yes it's because the texture bilinear filtering is off, because when you turn it on, the replication looks like kinda blurry (I'll post shots in 10 mins).
That's why we turned it off for the shots, and about the FSAA it's because somecards didn't supported it, so it's only disabled for testing purpose

And here are the desktop replication screenshots !
Ok, this time it's a 3D replication of the screenshot below. And it's good to note that in 3D, the windows are rotating on themselves.
Original desktop:

Desktop Replication (Full Scene 6x AntiAliasing and Anisotropic texture filtering, this is what gives this blurry effect):
Click me
And here we go 3D ! Rotating the windows around:

Click me
Hope you will like it
And again, no, it's not an attempt to recreate some kind of Looking Glass or else, it's juste a demo of the expire engine, which can (I repeat) give you some 2D animations
EDIT: yeah yeah I know about that the Winamp song is not the same, it's just because the original shot was took when I closed the 3D desktop.
