Offtopic posts deleted. I've warned people enough. If it keeps happening, I'll suspend people. This isn't general discussion.

...its called a forum, why delete posts? I think that option should be banned from ipb boards. Then the mods / admins start talking about how much trash and trouble a person causes and we're all wondering what are you smoking, we haven't seen that guy doing that. Please don't edit / delete posts. Hand out warnings like ur supposed to.

Editing posts is needed sometimes, like in the case when user posts way too large image (see up). Deleting may be good too, we need it for the tidiness of this place. Rules state that offtopic posts are allowed in General Discussion only.

Post edited, content deleted. Please listen to Contra, he's just trying to suppress the chaos.

Nice! I'm not gonna respond because I know what will happen. I'll just say a forum is nothing without its members.

I know on my boards we have a Trash Can mod installed, so all deleted posts go into a "Recycle Bin" of sorts, for further reference.

I asked Tim to install one, just in case we make a mistake (which does happen).

And I HAVE warned people for weeks. At this point, it's either suspend 20 members, or simply delete the offtopic posts. Which would you prefer? (rhetorical)

Our actions don't have to be accepted by you. The members will notice their posts disappeared, read my post, and realize what happened. If they don't understand why their posts were offtopic, they are free to PM me.

So you're right, it's called a FORUM. You ever heard the term "forum moderator"? This was not invented with the internet. Real life forums don't let anyone say or do whatever they please either. The romans used to behead people. ;)
