Hey, I need some good music. I don't care what genre, post your favorite songs and albums or whatever you're listening to right now. I wouldn't consider this thread spam since, it's providing the community with a basis in which we can relate to eachother in new ways and it benefits it's readers with helpful comments on what other people like, that way they don't have to go and download crap songs anymore, ;)

Labels:

[] - Album

"" - Song

- Artist

Anyways, to start it off:

[Kill Bill Soundtrack] - Various Artists

Joss stone - souls sessions

Not every 16-year-old white, English girl can hang with the likes of Betty Wright ("Clean Up Woman") and Angie Stone. Joss Stone (no relation), however, is blessed with a strong voice and a will to sing old-school soul. This debut CD is worthy of more than novelty status, though. Wisely avoiding iconic songs by the genre’s biggest names, Stone and a production team that includes Wright opt for lesser-known tunes more often by the likes of Laura Lee, Joe Simon, and the Soul Brothers Six--not to mention their digging out (with guest co-producer ?uestlove from the Roots) the great soul lyric in the White Stripes’ "Fell in Love with a (Boy)." Joss Stone occasionally misses a connection; her "Some Kind of Wonderful" is listless, and when she develops a bit more subtlety, it’ll be welcome. But The Soul Sessions has a spark beyond the album’s obvious good taste. --Rickey Wright

perfect for a first album ;)

I am spinning David Bowie's "Hunky Dory." I think that is his best album.

My copy is all scratched up, though, and the record store in the city wants twenty bucks for their (so-so) copy. Next time I have a day off, I'm driving to the next town over to see if the record store there has a cheap copy that sounds okay.

Hunk Dory is AWESOME... Quicksand, Queen B!tch, Changes, Life on Mars.... superb album. I have it on vinyl, too, but listen just to the one on my HD ;) Get yourself KDX (www.haxial.com) if you want a quality HD version.

Very cool album. Reminds me of 80's synth-pop stuff. Such Great Heights is on the radio now. This album will be big. Well worth the buy.  ;)

I agree! Its a wonderful album. The only problem with me is I listen to so much glitchy electro that the bass beats and drum beats in the song seem extreeemely repetative (which they are) so I only listened to the CD about 6 times before I traded it.

@derek : I love Joss Stone's The Soul Sessions - such a sexy voice.

@Lou : I just got Five For Fighting's The Battle For Everything tonight, so I haven't listened to all of it yet. Great so far!

Currently No Doubt - [singles 1992-2003] - You can't beat having all of the best songs on one album.

I'm trying to decide if I want to get Courtney Love's [America's Sweetheart] and Incubus's [A Crow Left Of The Murder] - anyone got any input on them?
