  1. AveDesk 1.3 Bug report thread

Bug description: Pidlshortcuts don't update free space stat regularly. Windows Version: WinXP Pro sp2 DirectX version: 9c System specs: P4 3.2Ghz, 1024MB DDR, WD 100GB, LaCie 300GB, Graphics card & drivers version: Mobility Radeon 9700 Desklets running: pidishortcuts, recycle bin Steps to reproduce: n/a, happens very regularly Special notes: happens very regularly - the shortcut will display an outdated free space stat when I have deleted or moved files. Happens on both external and internal drives. Seems Avedesk doesn't refresh the pidlshortcut stats enough? Didn't happen on previous 1.2 version.
  2. Debris left from previous AveDesk versions...?

Thanks for the help. I should have guessed it stored it there. I don't think I've ever got used to Windows XP using Docs to store user settings :| Well, it'll all be better in Vista anyway.
  3. I'd just like to know where exactly all the information is stored (in the registry or otherwise) for the previous AveDesk versions, so that I can clear it out. I've recently been deleting 1.2 and 1.3 multiple times to switch between them, and even using old desklets that I'd long since deleted, and after each install they seem to remember the layout and icons that the desklets were using (pidlshortcut and Folder and Shortcut, specifically). I don't think it's that great that this is distributed in a zip file with no way to remove all the information from the registry, so it would be good if Andreas or someone could tell me where all the data is left so I can start 1.3 with a fresh install.
  4. AveDesk 1.3

Hi guys. I'm having a bit of difficulty with this AveDesk version and I wonder if you can help me. My problem is with auto-hiding with Pidlshortcut. (edit: I had two other silly problems, but I solved them!) I've worked out that auto-hiding is implemented so that external drives (for example) are hidden when the drive is unmounted - a great improvement on 1.2 which I could never get to work. The only slight problem I have is with virtual drives, which seem to cause the icon to hide properly, but not the text (it stays visible all the time). Is this a bug or is it simply something which isn't covered?
